Jacobs Ladder play contemporary roots music. With their acclaimed debut album ‘KITE’ and a reputation for live performance, they are part of a new generation of roots music innovators. Their sound hinges around the unique harmonies and song writing talents of twins RAMONA and ZINTA EGLE.

The twins play fiddle, guitar, whistle, low whistle, mandolin and Celtic harp aside from their vocal talents.
Jacobs Ladder as a band comprise RAMONA and ZINTA plus HUGH WISDOM on flutes (concert "C", alto, and Norwegian shepherds flute) and marimba, SIMON MARCHANT on fretless bass, bass, electronic things and ANDY RENSHAW on percussion, including bodhran, talking drum, shakers, quakers and an array of chimes.

Jacobs Ladder draw on musical traditions from around the world and forge this into something uniquely original and evocative. Magical songs of passion balance with instrumentals to create a classic sound that whirls us to Brittany, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and beyond.

Jacobs Ladder use their diverse musical backgrounds to bring together these many strands to create their own highly successful blend of contemporary roots music.

The vocal harmonies and song writing of twin sisters Ramona and Zinta are the velvet icing on this musical gateau. Jacobs Ladder have a strong commitment to supporting local venues in rural Kent. Organizing and promoting rural touring projects. Village hall tours have become an annual event.

Having formed around 1994 as a trio, Jacobs Ladder quickly forged a solid reputation in Kent for musical individuality and song writing skills. By 1996 the Trio had grown in the present five piece.

Over the last few short years the band has notched up a reputation as a live band not to be missed.

Continuing work with Rural Touring Schemes nationally. A string of festival appearances, folk and mainstream, have consolidated their reputation.

Individually the band members have a wide ranging and diverse history of musical credits to their name including main stage Stonehenge as member of Normil Hawaiians, the 1980`s underground group, receiving five star album reviews and John Peel sessions.
